WOMEN RULE THE WORLD

Over 800 women gathered at the Durban International Convection Centre (ICC) to have breakfast with well-known South African business women.
In association with East Coast radio, FNB hosted their annual Business Women Breakfast, inviting leading and dynamic speakers to share their understandings and knowledge in
celebration of Women`s Month.
Amongst the guests was former Google SA boss, Stafford Masie, Freshly Ground`s Zolani Mahola, author and Madiba`s assistant Zelda la Grange and award-winning ballerina Lorna
In his talk Masie said that men run the internet and women rule it.
“Every business needs women. The truth is there are somethings only a woman can understand. Sometimes we sit around in the board room trying to figure something out as
men and we always get our answer from a woman,” said Masie.
Maseko said, “Being a female in the business world is difficult. You don’t want to show your vulnerability and you always want to conduct your business above board. I am passionate
about my business and don’t give up easily.”
Maseko spoke about how it is important to have the right attitude in a work place as a woman.
Freshly Ground’s Zolani Mahola spoke about her childhood and how strong it made her.
In her speech she mentioned how important it is not to give up and listen to what other people say about you.
“They never knew that later on we would become a well know band, taking part with an international artist in producing the internationally recognised ’waka-waka’. Only if they
knew the success we have tasted as individuals and as a group at large,” emphasised Mahola.
