SUSPECT STILL AT LARGE

Almost a week has passed since the killing of four children in Bhanoyi in Ndwedwe, north of Durban, but the Ndwedwe police are still struggling to find the perpetrator.
Smangaliso Sibanda (47) was driving a caterpillar at Bhanoyi area when he allegedly knocked four children on the 25th of March.
Three children died at the scene and the fourth child died in hospital the next day. Sibanda fled the scene after the accident and has not been captured since.
Police have opened four counts of culpable homicide, reckless and negligence driving and failing to render assistance after the accident was opened at the Ndwedwe police station.
The victims were 11-year-old Hlengiwe Magwaza, four year olds Langelihle Magwaza and Zanele Magwaza and two-year-old Busisiwe Magwaza. The children were killed on their way back from school.
Aqua Transport and Plant Hire spokeswoman, Sagree Gounden said, “We are still unable to locate him and his cellphones are still off.”
The police are calling for anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Sibanda.
