A BURNT NEW-BORN BABY

Residence of Section 13 in Mamelodi East in the city of Tshwane were left in shock after a newly born infant was found dead and half burnt.
Koos Mohlamonyane, was the first to discover the site of this gruesome murder. He said, “I was looking for a 2l bottle at this dumping site to assist a motorist on petrol, while searching I saw a head and initially thought it was that of a doll.” He saw blood and alerted other community members who confirmed that it was indeed a new-born baby half burnt.
It was later discovered that last Friday, two friends saw a woman trying to burn a black plastic bag, at the illegal dumping site close to Balebogeng Primary School. The two friends ignored her and only now they realize she was actually burning a baby. This disheartening act has left many community members in tears of sorrow. They are very keen on finding who the woman is and want justice to befall her.
“I saw a short woman carrying a black plastic bag heading to the dumping site,” Mohlamonyane added. He recalled that the woman was wearing a pair of white trousers, a blue T-shirt and red shoes. The woman remained there for a few minutes trying to burn the bag and the fire kept burning out.

Portia Nazo a community member said, “She could have given the child away for adoption, left her in the hospital or taken the baby to a nearby SOS, unlike killing the baby and even try to burn it.”
Nobody recalls the direction she took after this tragic scene. The police will make investigations on this case for this is crime and it should be taken to consideration.
