Academic calendar kicks off at DUT

Academic activities commenced successfully at the Durban University of Technology on Monday, 03 February.
DUT Vice-Chancellor and Principal Professor Thandwa Mthembu, officially welcomed first-year students when they made their way to DUT’s inspiring 2020 first-year Orientation programme that took place at the ML Sultan Campus, Curries Fountain from Monday, 27 January 2020 until Friday, 31 January 2020.
In a statement, Prof. Mthembu said that ” Whilst your time at DUT will give you opportunities to develop, grow and explore, be on the lookout for opportunistic maladies and trends that often trap young people”.
You are joining us at an opportune moment. We are hard at work to rebuild DUT so that it can adequately prepare you to become adaptive graduates who will make a considerable impact in our communities and in the world at large, he added.
“I am DUT. You are DUT. We are DUT.” are the words from the Vice-Chancellor encouraging all students to “Never lose sight of the main purpose of your presence at DUT: to learn and to succeed academically, socially and in many other progressive pursuits. DUT has many support measures in place to assist you when you struggle.”
The University already has its 2020 first-year intake nonetheless if there are still spaces the official DUT website will notify the public.
DUT Sport Studies Dept has spaces available for the Bachelor of Sport Science and Management Degree.
