BHEKI CELE FIRES AT PARTIES FORMED OUT OF ANGER

The ANCYL took its election campaign to the Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) last week, where Bheki Cele warned people not to steal ANC resolutions and policies.
“People must stop stealing ANC concepts and resolutions . In 2010 at the National General Council (NGC) of the youth league, our young lions resolved on economic freedom in our Lifetime,” said Cele.
He then took aim at the newly-formed Economic Freedom Fighters, led by former ANCYL leader Julius Malema.
“Today we see a young boy and his lost followers adding an ‘F’ to our resolutions. He must know that Robert Sobukwe and other intellectual tried to form a party outside of the ANC and it did not survive,” said Cele. Nobody survives in politics after leaving the ANC , he added.
“I would never dare leave the ANC or form my own party. My issues will be resolved within the confinements of the movement,” said Cele.
Cele further said that nobody owns the ANC and President Jacob Zuma has been entrusted to lead it for the time being. There is no ANC of individuals, it belongs to all people of South Africa.
“There is also no ANC of former past leaders such as Nelson Mandela, Albert Sisulu, O.R Tambo and others . It is the ANC of the people,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, ANCYL Provincial Task Team (PPT) spokesperson Sboniso Duma said that the ANC needed to change Vice Chancellors of MUT, UKZN and DUT because they are failing to adhere to the needs of students as they are still financially excluded.
“We need to change these people because they are claiming to be revolutionary yet their actions speak the opposite. NSFAS has injected funds unto these institutions but these Deans and Vice Chancellors do not want to register our students,” he said.
Duma also warned members of the Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA), SASCO , ANCYL and YCLSA not to be in the system for seven years without graduating.
“You remain the hope of this country. We are here to encourage and remind you to vote for the ANC,” said Amanda Bani , ANCYL Regional Chairperson. It was the youth that shaped the politics of this country in 1976 , we need to share the scope with all our peers so that they can vote for the ANC, she said.
We as young people must not be lied to by the DA and other parties saying the ANC has done nothing over the past five years . We have witnessed the birth of the National Development Plan (NDP) ,R 9 billion towards NSFAS in higher education for University of Technologies and Universities and we also witness infrastructural development, she said.
“We are young people and we know the truth,” said Bani.
The EFF was not formed on the basis of anger but it was formed to go back to the principles of the Freedom Charter which the ANC has neglected , said Nathi Phewa and EFF member in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
“ We identified the key areas and aspects that our people need in order to attain Economic Freedom , if the ANC feels that we are stealing their resolutions will they should start implementing them instead of talking all the time,” said Phewa.
Bafana Bafana Midfielder , Andile Jali also graced the students with his presence to campaign for the ANC but had to leave to catch a flight to Belgium.
