Another break-in at DUT Brickfield campus

Wongalethu Maquthu
Within a matter of two weeks, there have been two separate break-ins at Durban University of Technology, Brickfield Campus.
The latest of the break-ins was on Thursday morning. Apple computers were stolen. It is reported that the suspects were armed with guns.
The other break-in took place last week where security was held at gunpoint.
Students expressed shock over these two incidents, especially the latter.
“This place was a mess when we came in this morning, everything was out of place,” said one of the students.
One of the security guards said he could not comment on the incident but did confirm the break-ins.
Iziko did try communicating with the management by going to the site and by e-mail, however, those attempts were unsuccessful.
