Next eThekwini and Msunduzi Mayors announced

The African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal has named which candidates will fill in for the deployed eThekwini and Msunduzi Municipalites executives.
Following the ANC’s Provincial Working Committee meeting that was held on Monday, 19 August. The party today announced that the current MEC of Transport and Community Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda will be nominated for the Mayoral position in eThekwini Municipality.
Kaunda is expected to work with the newly nominated leadership in the city, former Finance MEC, Belinda Scott – Deputy Mayor, Wenziwe Thusi – Speaker and Sbongiseni Mkhize – Chief Whip.
BREAKING: During the next Umsunduzi Council meeting the ANC will nominate Mzimkhulu Thobella for the Mayoral position in Umsunduzi Municipality, he is currently working in the Provincial Legislature #IzikoDUT
The Msunduzi Municipality, where KwaZulu-Natal’s capital Pietermaritzburg is located, has been in hot water for the longest time and was even placed under administration following a host of issues, including irregular expenditure, maladministration and more. The ANC KZN PEC recently deployed the entire executive of this city with eThekwini Municipality.
During the next Msunduzi Council meeting the ANC will nominate Mzimkhulu Thobella for the Mayoral position in Msunduzi Municipality, he is currently working in the Provincial Legislature. Thobelalla is also expected to work with the newly nominated leadership, Manilal Inderjit – Deputy Mayor, Eunice Majola – Speaker and Vusi Ntshangase – Chief Whip.
The ANC Provincial Working Committee said that the new Mayors are expected to be in office by the end of next week. They called on the citizens of both eThekwini and Msunduzi Municipalities to give support to the incoming leadership and work closely with them.
