The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) eThekwini region has revealed two well-known soccer players and three DJ’s as new members of the league on Wednesday.
Bafana Bafana midfielder, Andile Jali and Lamontville Golden Arrows player, Manto Moholo, were presented to the public as a new member of the ANCYL along with three Durban celebrities in the music industry also as new members of the league. Musician Lvovo Derango, DJ Merlon, DJ Masiya and DJ Sox were introduced during a press conference at the regional office of the ANC.
“I have chosen to join the ANCYL, for a while now I have been reading about the league but I have finally decided to act and sign the membership form. Joining the Youth League will not affect my football career at all, I am going to campaign fully for the ANC when I get back from Belgium on the 13th of April,” said Jali.
Regional Chairperson of the ANCYL Amanda Bani (CHECK NAME) told Iziko News that the new members have chosen to be active in South African politics and applauded their decision.
“We are here today to unveil new fellow comrades who have chosen to participate in the politics of South Africa, I think this is a very wise decision because every young person must take part in the politics of this republic,” said Miss Amanda Bani, Regional Chairperson of the ANCYL.
She further emphasised that this is not a celebrity endorsement but they joined voluntarily.
