CHATSWORTH DEATH PAINS PROVINCE MEC

Five family members, a domestic worker and her child burnt to death yesterday.
The family died a tragic death after a fire broke in their home. KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Social Development Weziwe Thusi said “I would like to express my sincere condolences to the families of the deceased.”
Another family in the area escaped the same flame with injuries. “I wish the survivors a speedy recovery. This is a tragic incident which no one could have foreseen but it is also a reminder for all of us to be extra careful this winter”, said Weziwe Thusi.
The MEC has sent out social workers to aid victims by providing trauma counseling to survivors. “Our social workers have already met with the survivors and will be assisting them with all their needs”.
Michael Nkosi a fire fighter from the Durban Fire Department said “People need to be careful especially now since its winter. Most causes of fires are unknown like in this case; I urge the public to visit our department or log on to our site to get tips on how to avoid fires”.
The cause of the fire is unknown however police are investigating the matter.
