Differences in opinions about an online church App
Church members have different opinions amongst them about an online church app.
Nick Duncan discovered eDisciples app a year ago. A church can download the app and register all church members on it. Church members can share church messages amongst each, offer tithing through the app and hold sermons online.
The app is meant to make worshiping simple, help congregants stay connected as well as grow their church members faster.
Solomon Sithole, a youth member of The Holy Apostolic Church of Christ thinks the invention of this app was a good idea.
“There is nothing wrong with holding sermons on the internet. If there are means of preaching the gospel through social media, let that be so,” he said.
Sithole also added that most people are now too lazy to go to churches they prefer doing everything on their phones. Since the level of technology has gone too high, having such app is not a bad idea because that is where we are slowing going; doing everything electronically.
The app developer, Duncan said on his statement solutions that will help people gather and interact virtually are very important. Especially when people are trying to adapt to new ways of life.
Not everyone believes and shares the same views about eDisciples app, others do not recommend it like Reverend Nozipho Mazibuko of Baptise Church, she thinks people are turning worship into business.
“The whole idea of going to church besides the sermon is to get revival. How are you going to get revived through the internet?” she said.
Mazibuko also said that not everything deserves to change with time
eDisciples has already signed more than 1200 churches. They also have a free version available for not more than 150 congregant members.
