Durban family murder massacre under investigation
A woman was killed and a man seriously injured following a shooting incident at the Khobongwaneni in Taylors Halt, KwaZulu Natal.
The body of a 27 year old woman was found lying in a field with gunshot wounds to the upper body and was declared dead on the scene. Whilst a 23 year old man was found severely injured inside the residence, and others survived unharmed.
ER24 paramedics along with Pietermaritzburg fire services, were dispatched to the scene.
It is alleged that five family members were traveling from home in Khobongwaneni area when they were ambushed by a group of armed men who opened fire towards them.
According to Captain Nqobile Gwala, it is alleged that the suspects also went to the victims house and set alight two mini bus taxis and two vehicles.
“Charges of murder, attempted murder and malicious damage to property are being investigated by Taylors Halt SAPS,” said Gwala.
The deceased woman has been identified as Yandisa (Sbusi) Ngcobo.
Tweeps (Twitter users) were shook after hearing of Ngcobo’s death as she had been tweeting about the consecutive distrubing murders of her family members in the past few months.
Condolences poured in for the young lady.
The motive is yet to be established and the matter is still under investigation.
