DUT HOMOEOPATHY CLINIC CELEBRATES 10 YEARS

The spirit of close association has been declared as the most viable weapon for addressing problems that threaten the well-being of any community.
This idea was brought to light at the Warwick Junction Project Centre hall on Monday as they celebrated 10 years of healing Warwick through homeopathic medicine.
The event, organised by Durban University of Technology Homeopathy in collaboration with the Public Relations Management students, was an initiative set to educate the community about living a healthy lifestyle.
Various stakeholders of the Warwick Junction graced the occasion including the SAPS, eThekwini Arts and Culture, Hope Givers and Life Line Durban.
Amongst the guest speakers was DUT’s Health Promoter Oziel Mdletshe, a bold individual living with HIV. He mentioned the importance of people protecting one another from HIV and how they can go about it.
“As much as we focus on treatment we need to protect one another. Let’s talk about HIV and know where we stand,” he said.
He further stated that the future depends on the life we live on a daily basis hence HIV infected people must not be ashamed, but rather focus on their goals and passions because carrying the disease does not automatically suggest the end of the world.
SAPS representative, Lieutenant Colonel Thuli Mvuyana pointed out that they do not only take care of the community’s safety, but also their health.
She added, “The community is our eyes and ears hence the role in turn is to promote the environment and economic development within the area.”
Attendees expressed their thoughts regarding the event.
DUT student Leshmee Ramdiyal said, “This was a great event, it inspired us to reach out to the community as it also educated the public and created awareness about all that DUT is involved in.”
Head of Clinician Dr Jabu Ngobese-Ngubane confirmed the growth of the clinic as they are currently assisting more than 3000 patients.
She greatly attributed this achievement to the support given by the DUT’s Homeopathy Department.
