DUT SRC elections underway

Elections for the new Student Representative Council (SRC) are underway at the Durban University of Technology on both Durban and Pietermaritzburg campuses.
The 11-hour long first day of the elections was a success with no reports of intimidation and interruptions. The voting stations open at 09:00 till 18:00 then moving into residences from 19:00 till 21:00.
The Department of Student Governance and Development reminds all students that voting for SRC elections continues today, 28 August 2019 and will continue till tomorrow. For students to be able to vote, they must be on the voters roll and you can check this as follows:
Midlands – Student Life Office (for students studying at Riverside)
Security Office (for students studying at Indumiso)
Durban – Your faculty office
Should your name not appear, you need to alert your faculty office for this to be rectified.
Students who are doing short courses or non-DUT courses should note that they are not eligible to vote and may therefore not appear on the voters roll.
Below are the candidates for the Durban campuses, students are reminded that they can only vote for a maximum of 8 candidates:
Preliminary results are expected to be released on the 02nd of September 2019.
