Uvolwethu Communications hosted their annual Business Talk seminar at the Durban University of Technology’s ML Sultan Campus yesterday.
‘Life always rewards those who take action’ was the theme of the day. The purpose of the event was to empower and motivate students to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.
The seminar saw up and coming leaders of the entrepreneurial industry come together to inspire tomorrow’s leaders.
Chief Executive Officer of Billionaires Portfolio a forex trading company, Ngcebo Maketha, who was one of the speakers in his speech emphasised the value of money.
“When dealing with money you need to know what money is,” said Maketha.
He added that entrepreneurs have a responsibility to give back to other people who want to become entrepreneurs.
Maketha said that there is a responsibility to put out entrepreneurship in a positive way.
Co-owner and Founder of Uvolwethu Communications, Mfundo Shozi, who was one of the speakers at the event said that he hoped that everyone who attended will believe in themselves much more.
“I just want everyone who was here today to believe in whatever dreams they want to accomplish and while they are still studying it’s important to think about what they want to do with their lives and to think about what they want to accomplish and focus on,” said Shozi.
He lost his right leg in a tragic accident in 2011 but has since continued to inspire many by turning his tragedy into courage.
“In life you have two choices when something happens; it either to make you better or it can make you bitter. You have to decide what its going to be,” explained Shozi.
Third year jewellery design student, Simphiwe Ntuli, said that attending the event was a real eye opener to him.
“I feel that the event was really great as it will help me as a student to take on an entrepreneurial journey,” said Ntuli.
Business moguls in attendance included Praise Khumalo, Thando Ntshayintshayi, Mluleki Qwabe and motivational speaker Nelson Left.
