Eskom has announced that it will implement stage 2 load shedding starting today.
Plagued power plant Eskom said in a statement that it will set up stage 2 load shedding starting today from 12pm to 10pm.

It has become necessary to implement stage two load shedding from 12midday to 10 pm today.” Mantshantsha added.
The update of the power plant said this was due to an increase in the number of generators damaged yesterday. 10 units at 7 power stations suffered breakdowns in the last 48 hours.
“These are the generators that each at are not Medupi, Lethabo and Matla power stations while 2 units each at Majuba, Camdem and Tutuka power stations also broke down.” Said Sikonathi Mantshantsha.
Eskom said this along with the need to save emergency generation requires that load shedding be actualized to protect the system. Eskom urges the public to decrease the electricity usage to assist the utility reduce the load shedding.
