The eThekwini Municipality hosted a stimulating Durban Business Fair Exhibition, aimed at grooming local businesses at the Durban Exhibition Centre (DEC) on Friday.
The fair featured a number of exhibitions aimed at inspiring and empowering businesses, through sharing expertise.
The Business Fair is a platform for Small, Medium and Micro Entrepreneurs (SMME) to access first hand insight on business operations and development directly from reputable entrepreneurs.
Marketing and Customer Relations Officer Rishav Sewscwer from Aquacool, which was one of the exhibitors, said that the fair is a good platform for businesses to grow.
“ As businesses we are given an opportunity to showcase our products. We also interact with the small business community and link you with businesses that relate to your field,” he said.
He mentioned that the turn out was overwhelming and the audience was eager to be informed.
“ It is amazing to see people so interested in obtaining knowledge. If only the exhibition took place more often,” Sewscwer added.
Wesley Wells who was part of the audience said that the event was fruitful.
“It was a very interesting and informative occasion- I came here to network and grab any opportunities that may avail themselves. I am inspired to be an entrepreneur after visiting different stands and taking in their expertise,” he said.
He went on to say that the fair is very important regardless of what you do because it is where people exchange intellectual dialogue and help each other grow.
Wells added, “People need to take advantage of this opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about business operations at no expense.”
