Four arrested for gang robbery in Gauteng
Gauteng police have arrested four members alleged with jewellery robberies in Bedfordview.
The suspects were arrested on Thursday and found in possession of two illegal firearms. Police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters confirmed the arrests and says the suspects were associate with prior critical robberies.
“This came after the integrated team released information about the about a possible jewellery incident when saw two suspicious vehicles. During this operation four suspects were arrested and two illegal firearms were discovered too. However Johannesburg flying squad are still combining the scene,” Peter said.
Resident Mzuvukile Mshengu says they are worried about ever growing crime around the city as they experience daily robberies and the police service seem so weak.
“We are tired. More police officers must be deployed in the area. We experience robberies almost every day,” said Mshengu.
Suspected faced with chargers of robberies, possession of illegal firearms are expected to appeared before the Gauteng magistrate court on Monday.
