FOUR CRIMINALS BROUGHT TO BOOK

The Umhlali police have arrested four suspects for a business robbery in Ballito earlier today.
The robbery took place in Richards Bay yesterday.
The suspects robbed a business money and other business properties. It is alleged that victims were accosted by four armed suspects who demanded a safe key.
They (suspects) fled the scene with the business owner’s vehicle, which they later abandoned in the vicinity and jumped into another car. The Richards Bay police alerted their partners at
Umhlali Police Station, who waited at Umvoti Toll Plaza and kept observant.
According to Constable Ayanda Mncube of the Umhlali police station, police spotted the vehicle and the high-speed chase ensued. The suspects were cornered near Ballito and
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the four were already sought by our police for a case of housebreaking,” added Mncube.
The SAPS were complimented for their detective skills and the ability to work in joint operations with other police stations to bring perpetrators to book.
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended the Umhlali members for the arrest of the suspects.
She said, “We believe that our detectives will make sure that these criminals are positively linked to the other cases they were sought for.”
Business owners were impressed with the way the police handled this matter and the way they responded to the alleged robbery.
