Gagasi FM reports first Covid-19 case
One of KZN’s commercial biggest radio stations, Gagasi FM has temporarily shut down its Cornubia offices as one staff member tests positive for Covid-19.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the station confirmed that they have recorded a positive case and further stated that they cannot divulge the identity of a staff member who tested positive, for privacy reasons.
“Gagasi FM can confirm that one staff member has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in isolation. In respect for their privacy, we cannot give any details pertaining to the identity of a staff member. In line with regulations, Gagasi FM has shut down its offices in Cornubia until further notice and no staff member will be accessing the building,’’ reads the statement shared via their official social media pages.
According to the statement, necessary measures have been put in place to ensure that the broadcast services continue without any minimal interruption.
“As an immediate response, presenters will be doing their shows from home and after sanitising, testing and getting the all-clear, we will begin broadcasting through one of our remote broadcasting facilities in KZN,’’ the statement read.
