NEWLY WEDS’ SHORT-LIVED HAPPINESS

By: Mhleli Mkhize
A couple finds themselves having sleepless nights after their house was broken into few days after they got married.
S’fiso Dlamini from Kwathandaza got married on Sunday the 27th of September to Mbalenhle Majozi.
The couple then went for a vacation in Amanzimtoti, south of Durban and only returned three days later only to find their house had been broken into.
The couple lost a Toyota Corolla 2009 model, a 20inch flat screen and a wall mirror.
The doors and windows were smashed with a brick that was found inside the house by police.
“Whoever is responsible for this wasn’t just a thief passing by, it is someone who knows me and my wife were not around and found an opportunity,” said Dlamini.
The house is situated next to the main road coming to and from Cato Ridge.
“This community is not safe at all, I don’t feel safe as a citizen of this township as well we don’t even have street lights for that matter, no wonder criminals find this place a
playground,” said Sharon Makhaye, a neighbor to the couple.
Constable Phakamani Khawula from the Hammarsdale Police station, investigating the case said, “A case of theft has been opened and we are working on the clock to find whoever did
this and putting them behind bars.”
