Problems in Durban with the new services launched by Bolt
Bolt drivers have a bone to pick with the new Bolt-Go services.
According to the driver of bolt, he said the new operation is not good for their business. This comes after the allegations of their customers migrating to Bolt-Go because of cheaper rides. He added by accusing the owner of Bolt-Go, having a big piece of the pie. The driver emphasizes that on top of allegedly making huge profits, the owner of Bolt-Go also receives a commission.
Following the strike of bolt drivers, that took place on Monday. The drivers were voicing out their frustrations of losing money, amid of Covid-19. Where times are hard for everyone to sustain their livelihood.
Luzuko Stonga, he is one of registered Bolt drivers. Stonga joined bolt app few years ago and he makes a living out of this app. He said, “I have been around for quite some time in this business, and the feeling of losing customers is frustrating. I used to get more than 50 rides by midday, but now the business is slow”.
Meanwhile, Snethemba Ndlovu is a bolt customer, and her experience with Go-services is not pleasant. “Bolt-Go is forever busy whenever I requests a ride, their arrival time takes longer compared to bolt”, she said.
Bolt-Go managements was unreachable to comment on these allegations.
