#RIPSne: UKZN student dies after being stabbed for saying ‘NO’

University of KwaZulu-Natal student, Snethemba Ndlovu dies after being stabbed by an unknown suspect at Esidakeni in Umsinga.
It is reported that Snethemba who attended at UKZN, Westville campus was assaulted and stabbed by a man who tried to force himself unto her while she was working at an event in Umsinga on Sunday morning.
South African Police service spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala confirmed the incident and said that a case of murder is being investigated by Msinga SAPS and no arrest have been made.
“It is alleged that on 22 September at Sidakeni in Msinga, a 22-year-old woman was stabbed by unknown suspect. She sustained two stab wounds below the left armpit and stomach. She was taken to hospital for medical attention and she died yesterday morning”.
A close friend of Snethemba, Lekeesha Adams described Snethemba as a kind and friendly person.
“Sne was a go-getter, she was into pageant a lot, she liked modelling and that is where I met her. She was very kind and friendly and she was the kind of a person who could light up a room with a smile and that is basically Sne in a nutshell,” said Adams.
Messages of condolences are still pouring in on social media for her family and friends.
The event company Msinga DriftKHANA which she was a hostess at, has expressed in a statement how sad they were by the passing of Snethemba.
“We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and all those who were fortune to know such a beautiful soul”.
