Sjava’s rape case thrown out

Multi-award winning musician and actor Sjava, is a free man after been accused of raping his ex-girlfriend Lady Zamar three years ago.
The rape case that allegedly happened at a hotel in Thohoyondou, Limpopo in 2017 after a concert was opened against Sjava at a local police station and later passed on to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) for decision to prosecute, was declined for prosecution two weeks ago according to Limpopo police spokesperson Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
On 28 August in a statement, Sjava addresses the rape allegations where he denied raping Lady Zamar. However apologised for the hurt he caused her. Sjava reiterated countless times that the rape accusations are false.
Sjava has lost out on s lot of gigs and pulled out on last minute and was also pulled out from SABC 1 Uzalo after he had started shooting following requests of social media and their ‘cancel culture.
With allegations which were hovering over him, Sjava could not work anywhere and suffered a heavy blow from the industry.
“When we started dating in 2017 I told her I have a girlfriend and she understood that so we continued our relationship. However as time went on she changed and gave me an ultimatum to chose between her and my girlfriend. In our relationship a lot happened that left her unhappy as I was well invested in my music and neglecting her in the process,” he stated in a video he released on Instagram.
Sjava added that he is against rape and women abuse and all forms of abuse. , He said it baffles him that he would be categorized under those men who are abusers because he speaks about it a lot through his music.
