A 27-year-old man was knocked down by a truck driver on Lancers Road, Durban, Wednesday.
The man was identified as Mboneni Mbuthwana from uMlazi who is a street vendor on Lancers Road. An eye witness Sphiwe Madlala, (45), told JournlisimIziko that Mbuthwana was playing a game of catch with a friend who was armed with a knife, when he ran in between two trucks and was immediately knocked down by the other.
The ambulance arrived swiftly and Head Paramedic Mandla Khoza said that due to the collision of the patients head to the windshield of the truck, this led to him acquiring superficial head wounds but was conscious at arrival.
“There were no internal injuries and that the victim had dislocated bones in his right arm and on his knee,” said Khoza.

Shop owner Devin Chetty argues that a lot of accidents that take place on this street are caused by over speeding of drivers, and the fact that there are no robots nor any speed humps on this street, makes the matter even worse, he continued.
After being given a drip and first aid assistance, Mbuthwana was immediately rushed to the Addington Hospital by the paramedics, for proper care.
