Matric students panic over combined exams

Matric students are panicking as they are set to write combined exams.
The Department of Basic Education has announced that matric students will write combined exams in November.
However, not all students are as excited about this announcement, some are nervous.
Nompilo Zondi is a grade 12 student at Amatshezulu high school. She is nervous about the exams and she is not sure if she is ready for them.
“We have never written combined exams before and that makes me feel pressured and scared at the same time,” she said.
She also mentioned that being in matric is very challenging. All eyes are on you, but she is hoping that the department will be lenient on them.
Zondi mentioned that teachers are doing all they can possible can to make up for the lost time. She believes that by the time exams come they would have learned everything.
The combined examination will begin from 5 November and end on 15 December. The department said the reason why the exams will begin late it is because they want to give students enough time to study. They want to make sure that teachers finish the curriculum and have time to revise the syllabus.
