Rural school, Vezokuhle Primary receives internet connection

Communications Minister Stella-Ndabeni Abrahams together with uMsunduzi Municipality have launched the broadband tower in Vezokuhle Primary school.
This tower will provide wi-fi connections that will benefit ward 1 residents of kwaMpuza as well as the school. However, Vezokuhle Primary only owns one computer, used by the clerk to assist in school admin. Makhosi Mfeka, a school clerk appreciates this kind of development.
Mfeka said out of great excitement, “Terrible reception has been a problem in the past years but this kind of infrastructure will assist and speed up my work momentum”.
Gugu Ndlovu, grade five teacher said her wish for the school is computer sponsorship for their pupils in order to make full use of internet connection.
“These kids are bright, only if government provides us with computers in order for our kids to be computer literate and make full use of wi-fi for purpose of their schoolwork,” she said.
Phindile Sthole is a student at uMgungundlovu Tvet College, she began her lower education at Vezokuhle Primary. She voiced out her excitement towards the development.
“Free Wi-Fi is ideal for students. Data cost has been the main concern for us, now we will be able to use the money for essential needs”, said Sthole.
Dube iConnect is one of the companies behind the installation of broadband tower. This company uses ISP services which is going to manage and track use of free Wi-Fi within the community.
