A new Durban queen on the block
Paving her own way into the entertainment industry, a fresh face joins The Queen.
Thabisile Zikhali is a small-town girl born in the dusty streets of Kwa-Mashu Township, north of Durban. Zikhali graduated from Duma Ndlovu Academy last year where she studied Drama.
She started her journey on Mzansi Bioskop feature films which carried on for 8 years before joining the most watched telenovela, The Queen on Mzansi Magic. She was also featured on UZalo and Ufelani before taking what was to be her first big role in her career.
Knowing that hard work pays off Thabisile said that was what kept her motivated to achieve her goals, “I am not from a rich family so working extra hard keeps me going and knowing that I’ll leave a legacy for my great, great-grandchildren,” she said excitedly.
She advised aspiring actors to have a passion or talent and know their strongest points. “Get training, know the basics, to learn and understand the techniques of how one gets into character. Also getting an agent is very important because it gets one on closed auditions that aren’t announced to the public,” said Zikhali.
When asked who inspires her the most, DJ Tira, is her biggest inspiration and motivator. “He is super humble, works very hard and has earned everything he has now,” she added.
Zikhali has her own modeling agency called Fino Diamonds Agency for girls. Fino is a Portuguese word for elegant and top class, Thabisile is the epitome of all that.
She hopes that one day her agency is established and known all around Africa, working hard to becoming an internationally recognised actress, hopes that one day she acts in Hollywood, start her own production company and be a successful farmer as well.
The future seems to be bright for the actress.
