BEAUTY BLOGGER WITH A DIFFERENCE
Written by: Shanice Pillay
Make-up artist, blogger, sketch artist and human trafficking activist are just a few titles that an ordinary girl from Chatsworth obtains.
Natalie Fay Pillay (23) who puts God first and is grateful for her upbringing, says, “I am strong believer in Jesus Christ, I loved hearing the word of God. My parents taught me even though we go through challenges, it is important to build a strong character in the ways off the Lord. Family is a huge part off my life and I am grateful for mine.”
Growing up with an artistic talent whereby she was always holding a crayon or paint brush, steamed her passion in the artistic field.
“As I got older I became more talented and I allowed myself to get more creative, I then became influenced by a make -up artist known as Carli Bybel, and from there I found my own inspiration to do my own beauty tutorials.”
She put her shyness aside and filmed her first video, which became a hit.
“When I filmed my first video, I was so shy more so intimated by others. So I sat in front of the camera and got it done, surprisingly people really took to it,” she said.
Fay says doing make-up has been the best decision she has made in terms of career. Along with her make-up brush, she does pencil sketches of people as well.
She also mentioned that through her spiritual standing with God, she has found her very own prince charming, Wesley Naidoo. She adds that they both share the same interest when it comes the youth of our generation.
“We have a passion for our generated, we are affiliated with Stop Human Trafficking Now Organization (SHTN), we really want to create an awareness for our generation, because human trafficking is a huge issue in South Africa.”
Fay believes it is important to educate oneself and share the knowledge with other people in order to bring about change.
