Ntokozo Ndlovu, the founder of Indlovu Garden Services and Projects is a shining example of how dreaming big and beyond your circumstances always pays off.
Ntokozo was born and raised in the capital city of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg. Being an only child to her parents, she was taught to never second guess herself but instead she must dream big and beyond, these words are what drove her to push boundaries and enter a working space that is said to be male dominated.
“I have always been a very passionate and driven person who always wanted to push boundaries and go far and beyond the norm,” she said.
Indlovu Garden Services and Projects specialises in home improvements and provide garden services including grass cutting, landscaping, painting, driveway and roof cleaning.
Stepping into a male dominated industry often caused miscommunication for her due to gender roles “I understand that I have embarked on a very male dominated industry and I am very determined to do away with the whole gender concept,” said Ndlovu.
The business has managed to uplift the community and employ seven unemployed young people and is currently looking to employ another two. Ndlovu is uplifting the community in more ways than one she has created a campaign to help young boys called “Take a boy child to the barber shop”. This campaign is meant to challenge men to take a stand and be shining examples to younger boys.
“I would like for them to inspire young boys and shoe them that there is so much more to life than what they are exposed to,” she said.
The drive and motivation is visible in Ntokozo as she makes plans for her future, she is determined and nothing can stand in her way.
