Famous author, JK Rowling is set to write a screenplay for a film series that will be Harry Potter inspired.
The first movie will be based on her book, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This book was featured in the Harry Potter series as a Hogwarts textbook.
Warner Bro said that the joint venture was an expanded creative partnership with Rowling. They have not given an indication as to when they will start the production of the series. Rowling confirmed that Warner Bros approached her with the idea of making her book into a film.
The film will have another famous book author, Newt Scamander as the fictional author of the book. “I thought it was a fun idea, but the idea of seeing Newt Scamander, the supposed author of the Fantastic Beast, realised by another writer was difficult,” said Rowling in an interview with the BBC.

She went on to say, “As hard-core Harry Potter fans will know, I liked him (Newt) so much that I even married his grandson, Rolf, to one of my favourite characters from the Harry Potter series, Luna Lovegood.”
Fans from all over the world are excited about the developments. 30 year old Lunga Biyela said he was excited about the new film series.
“It’s going to be interesting to see how she grows the story beyond the characters of the first films. There’s so much that can be done,” said Biyela. Rowling said that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series but rather an extension of the wizarding world.
The Harry Potter film series are the largest grossing film franchise ever, which include the eight films based on the seven Harry Potter novels. The series has made close to R790 billion since the first movie in 2001.
