What characteristics actually define a hater? The most simple and direct answer is as a person who greatly dislikes a specific being or thing- a hater is a person who is jealous of someone’s possessions or lifestyle. So the question now is, do you hate, are they jealous or do they envy who you are or they just don’t like you?
According to Malik Yusef, the Grammy winning songwriter and spoken word artist, “Haters don’t start off as haters.”
According to an article by Leela Bullen, “You start comparing their (social media ‘haters’) perceived happiness to yours, the gifts they got and the ones you wanted that are still at the store, and finally, how much better their life is while yours sucks.”
“I believe that haters are out there- the more successful you are, the more hate you accumulate,” said Ayanda Mabaso, an IT student.
According physiological studies in order to hate someone or someone to hate, that person should pose a threat to you. So do people really have haters? Or are people just envious of each other’s’ lifestyles?
