THE MUCH ANTICIPATED VD 6 IS HERE

By Bliss Ndapasowa
With the October 2014 premier receiving a 13% increase in viewership since the May 2014 finale, Vampire Diaries Season Six has managed to uphold it’s status as the most series watched on The CW network channel.
The American supernatural drama television series (based on the book series Vampire Diaries by L.J Smith) has achieved a staggering 9,8 million plus viewers after only 8 episodes.
Themes of loss, denial, romance and immortality continue to rule as each character experiences their fair share of self-reflection.
Season 5 left the audience hanging as Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) failed to come back to life.
Season 6 kicks off with the characters trying to cope with the absence of these two and a couple of other interesting angles which include the new Mystic Falls and a surreptitious vampire hunter.
The CBS production conversely relates to everyday human life as it portrays how individuals find themselves dealing with situations the best way they know how. Caroline (Candice Accola) obsesses on finding a means to undo the supernatural spell cast on their hometown by the travellers whilst emotionally wrecked Elena (Nina Dobrev)’s relies on witch herbs to hallucinate the presence of her dead beau.
Viewers can look forward to a captivating experience as several mysteries are yet to be accounted for in this season.
These entail life in the new anti-magic Mystic Falls, Stefan and Caroline’s pending romance, Damon and Bonnie’s fate, Tyler’s mortal life and what the future holds for Elena’s love life in the face of her beau’s unaccounted for death.
As compared to the previous season, which most fans deemed confusing, season 6 is a compelling set of sequences worth dedicating this summer to.
