DUT ARTS AND DESIGN FESTVAL

Durban University of Technology’s first Arts and Design Festival was a successful two day event which offered a platform for DUT students and staff members to showcase their talent and expertise in their field of work.
Phumlani Mkhize a Fine Art student said, ” This is a great opportunity to show off my talent, because I can make these things, but I don’t have a place to sell them. So if I have this opportunity I am very excited.” He said this as festival attendants purchased some of his art work made of disposable objects.
DUT vice chancellor professor Ahmed Bawa expressed high hopes for the future of he festival.
He said, ” I am hopping very much indeed that in partnership with the city we see this as the start of a Durban Digi Festival based at DUT, and it becomes an annual event.”
The festival was filled with exciting music, performances,displays of art work and more, to mention a few.
