JOURNALISMIZIKO’S ANNUAL EVENT TO ILANGA HIGH SCHOOL

The Journalismiziko team visited ILanga High School on Friday as part of their community outreach initiative where grade 11 and grade 12 students were informed about various career paths available at the Durban University of Technology.
The event went beyond course choices within the academic sector. The Journalismiziko team touched on campus life, residence life, challenges in adapting to university life, and financial aid opportunities that are available for those who come from underprivileged backgrounds.
Lucky Khanyile, the sport section editor said, “We went there to make students aware and understand the life of being at a tertiary level; the positive and negatives of being at tertiary.”
Sphelele Hlengwa grade 12 learner at the school said, “ I learned a lot from today, what to do and what not to do in order for u to be able to cope with University. “
The Arts and Culture learners performed poetry, drama, choral music and a Zulu dance piece.
