A lot goes into making that dream wedding a reality, which is why Durban hosted its first Wedding Expo over the past weekend at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Elaine Crewe, one of the organisers, said that this event is a wide array of matrimonial tips, products, services and surprises for bride and groom to be.
“Most couples don’t know how to plan for a wedding. They just get excited by the idea of having one,” said Crewe.
Activities available were a personal guided tour through everything that a bride-to-be will ever need or want.
This event focused on couples that are getting married but not really sure as to how and where to get all the things they need to make their dream day a reality.
Bride-to-be Sanelisiwe Mbambo, said that this event is a great help for people still planning for their big day.
“As much as I have everything in my head I still needed that guide from people who have more experience and knowledge about planning a wedding, it really helped me,” Mbambo said.
In its very first iteration, the Durban Wedding Expo had the likes of Julia Boltts, Maureen Skosana and Leven Naiker in attendance, who are among South Africa’s top wedding planners,
photographers and caterers.
Julia Bolts, editor of the Wedding Inspiration, said that she likes helping brides that are still undecided and couples that don’t have a clue on what they want.
Maureen Skosana, wedding planner extraordinaire, said that this is a platform for them to reach people that are not aware of their work.
“Being part of the Wedding Expo helps us all to give people a chance who don’t know about us to be aware of us,” said Skosana.
“Also we aim to be of great help to the brides to be with all the stress they go through,” added Skosana.
