DUT STUDENTS MUSIC VIDEO AIRS ON CHANNEL-O

Fergus David Hannah has just had his first music video released on television nationwide.
The 22-year-old Queensburgh resident aspiring to oneday become a music video director, is ecstatic about the release of his music video. Fergus, who is currently studying at the DUT City campus, had directed a music video by Nichefam called ‘Bounce’ which was released on the 23rd August 2013.
This is Nichefam’s third official music video. “I needed to make a music video for a campus project so I approached Nichefam with a music video proposal and we agreed to shoot a video for their track Bounce. We decided to collaborate with the talented Kenny Gwele who edited their previous video Spin Around,”said Fergus.
‘Bounce’ which is directed by Fergus and edited by Kenny Gwele has acquired over 1000 views on Youtube in less than a week-and has aired on DSTV’s Channel O. Fergus who is in his third year of studing Video Technology is working towards a B-Tech degree.
He has directed two music videos including Bounce. The other for local artict Just Pete called ‘EWIG’ (Everywhere I go). The music video has not been released yet. Fergus who describes himself as an “ambitious young lad who loves to excel at what he does” said that he loves working with people and always tries to be creative and original. He plans to keep growing and learning more skills and techniques.
He is inspired by the likes of Matt Alonzo, director X and Parris who are music video directors for famous artists. “It would be unbelievable if I could emulate a fraction of their success,” said Fergus.
When asked about advice he had for those who want to study Video Technology he said, Get your basics correct and you will grow in leaps and bounds from there. A positive attitude and continuous effort plus extra research with good planning will take you a far”.
He is currently working in collaboration with an artist called Devon who is currently recording his debut album.
