EXHIBITORS INSPIRED BY AFRICAN CULTURES
African countries exhibited their various cultures to the world at the 2014 Tourism Indaba.
Exhibitors came from all parts of the world to showcase their businesses and the beauty of their cultures. The Tourism Indaba, which is a three-day event at the Durban ICC, featured exhibitors from hotels, lodges, travel companies, and beauty products showcasing their cultures.
Burundian Drummer represented Burundi in their Bundu Culture as they attracted many people with their songs and dance. Their stand had people from different races watching their unique culture. William Ijana from Burundi gave more clarity of what his culture is all about and their passion for music and dance. “We are a country of a proud heritage, we embrace our culture all the times. Being here at Tourism Indaba means a lot to our culture,” he said.
People were also intrigued by the cultures showcased at the Exhibition Centre. One of such people was John Ngidi who said, “This show made me realise the rich African cultures we have. I am happy to see other African countries being proud of their cultures like this, I am a proud African indeed.”
The show also had cultures from countries like Lesotho, Kenya, Swaziland, Burundi, Ghana, and many more. Different hotels were also exhibiting their services on display. Raya Hotels is one of the hotels which had an interesting exhibition that attracted a lot of attention.
“We have hotels in Durban and Cape Town and we are dedicated to serving our customers. Indaba is one of the best travel event for us to showcase what we are all about,” said Ardiela Rajap.
As exhibitors showed off their work, people like Gabriel Pinyaro from Brazil also had his say. “It is my first time being here and I have enjoyed the mixture of African cultures. I must say that Africans are very proud of their continent I am very happy with what I saw here.”
