FACE OF DURBAN DISCOVERED

The search for this year’s Face of Durban ended last night as a young man and woman exhibiting both brains and beauty were crowned at a momentous occassion.
The event, organised by Lungile Zondi who is the owner of Stage View Modelling Agency, took place at the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Howard College Campus. It saw models from all around Durban contesting for the 2013 title of the Face of Durban.
Models were tasked to empress a panel of four judges comprised of key players in the fashion world. The panel included, Neetash Singh an international model and one of South African models chosen to model at the South Africa Fashion Week. The second judge was Amro Gabriel, Mr KZN 2013, and top 12 finalist in the Mr South Africa pageant. Thirdly was Zane Mesiani, a fashion blogger and columnist. The fourth judge was Hlengiwe Mthembu, a well renowned model from Ice Modelling Agency. Contestant’s outfits were designed by Clive Hadebe from Deep Models Management.
Regardless of its small magnitude, the competition was filled with glitz and glamour as well as academic excellence. Models displayed both beauty and intelligence as they took to the stage marvellous outfits and answered questions from the judges.
Prince Mduduzi, one of the spectators said, “The event is still growing. It was a nice show but will get better when it grows bigger.”
For the women, Khwezi Hlatshwayo, was crowned queen, the first princess was Paballo Letshaba and the second princess went to Nokukhanya Cele.
For the males, Bonokuhle Magwaza was crowned king, and first runner up was Siyabonga Mkhize and second runner up was Musawenkosi Gcwabaza.
