FALSE GODS FASHION SHOWCASE 2017

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) hosted its annual fashion design of final year fanshion and textile students. This year the theme was ‘False Gods’.
Clothes can be bought but not style, and final year fashion students proved exactly that during the three-day fashion showcase extravaganza which opened on Wednesday night at Fred Crookes Sports Centre.
It was the battle of creativity, inspiration, patterns, theme as well as street and high fashion, and all the students were very impressive with their unique styled fashion collections.
The judges had a tough job while deliberating the most outstanding students’s designs from the whole lot but with a judge’s panel consisting of experts and experienced fashion icons and business moguls, the adjudication process seemed pretty easy.
Judges comprised of fashion icon Chu Suwannapha from Thailand who now lives in Cape Town, Product Designer for the Durban based NGO Africa! Manoushka Kraal originally from Netherlands who now resides in Durban, owner of photographic production company and creative management agency Lampost in Johannesburg and Lustre in Cape Town, Jodie Ennik, Gavin Rajah, an entrepreneur in the fashion industry, as well as Holmes brothers of the label Holmes Bros and DUT’s alumni George Vorster.
