“Its crazy times we live in South Africa as always, interesting times as always and here we are the people of South Africa getting together we listen to music,” said Zolani Mahola, the band’s lead vocalist.
Freshly Ground’s latest single is quite controversial and questionable something that is to be expected as artists express their feelings and emotions towards certain things through music.
“So we’ve just released our latest single, song called Banana Republic, it is on YouTube check it out. We also for free downloading on our websites freshlygroung.com. We just finished recording our sixth studio album,” said Mahola.
The band performed all their timeless hit songs from ‘Nomvula, I’d Like, Doo be Doo’ as well as the 2010 FIFA world cup official theme song ‘Waka Waka’. This song was taken from the Cameronian band called Golden Sounds.
“We were together at a time where there was such hope for our country, at a time where the dream of a rainbow nation was at its peak and we all really want to buy into that dream,” added Mahola.
