HIP HOP ARTISTS PAINT DURBAN WITH THEIR TALENT

Hip Hop artists paved the way for Duncan’s new album titled Ikasi ikhaya lami meaning My Township is my Home. This event took place at the Bat Centre and hip hop music was taken to another level by Durban’s upcoming artists that shared the stage.
The main aim of this event was to push young and upcoming artists around Durban to showcase their talent. The event is called Duncan Ikasi Ikhaya LamiTour and it goes around from township to township inspiring upcoming artists. Duncan is the hip hop artist who is signed under Afrotainment and is about to release his new album.
Different artists took to the stage revealing their amazing talent. One of the performers who left many amazed by her talent was Lady Killer, a young hip hop female artist who took to the stage leaving people wanting more. She said, “Being a hip hop artist basically means, I am expressing my feelings through music. It’s about being able to say what you want, and being free at the same time.’’ Her performance was filled with energy and the lyrics were able to paint pictures.
Merel was one other artist that came with a unique sound and punch lines that left the crowd amazed by his music. He is very excited as he is about to release his new album. “Music is my life, it is what I do, I live and being an artist is being able to express your feelings,” he said
The crowd was overwhelmed by all the performers that took to the stage. The atmosphere was full of excitement following all the performances. The Metro FM awardwinning artist for Best Hip Hop, Zakwe, took to the stage and the crowd went crazy. Zakwe said that he is really happy about the talent that Durban has to offer. Ifani is also another artist that performed with his unique sound.
Mdu “Bon Husla” Mtakwende, another hip hop artist and one of the event organisers said, “We are pushing Duncan’s new album also at the same time we want to make sure that no hip hop artist is left out,” Judging by the attendance and atmosphere, this is one hip hop show you never want to miss. Be on the lookout in a township near you.
