IT’S AN ART TO TASTE

The Wine Show at Sun Coast Casino Durban introduced people to the wonders of wine.
Wine testing is one of the well known lifestyles in Cape Town as they are the biggest wine producers in the country. Wine is the biggest part of some people’s lifestyle and leisure and it is usually linked with words like “elegance, sophistication, and class”.
As much as the city doesn’t have wine production, however producers and wine consumers travel across the country to attend The Wine Show, an event that is slowly growing in the city of Durban.
From white wine to red wine, these wines play an important role whether it’s a date, a romantic getaway, as a present and in the kitchen when it comes to cooking. Wine can also be added to bring out that unique flavour in your food.
From the entrance the consumers were given a free glass to go around and taste their favourite brands or even buy.
This show gives a consumer and a producer a chance to interact and talk more about the latest products and learn more about wine.
Adre Rheeder who is the Chief Operating Officer for Ormonde Vineyards talked more on how wine has become a lifestyle. “I am really happy to attend a show like this because this is where as a producer you get to learn more from the consumers perspective and the reception from people is really amazing the interest of wine in Durban is growing and people are willing to learn,” said Rheeder.
Consumers like Roxanne Guilhermino gave a few points when visiting a wine testing show. “Always look for a less crowded stand, sometimes other producers put colourful logos and pretty bottles but the quality of the wine is not as pretty as the bottle and never mix when it comes to testing. When testing red wine for the day, stick to red because it might confuse your taste buds,” Advised Guilhermino. She further added the importance to add some room for new brands.
