It’s the end of the road for PMB’s 033 Lifestyle

One of Pietermaritzburg’s biggest and loved car wash and shisanyama, 033 Lifestyle is shutting down.
Situated in Imbali unit 3, 033 Lifestyle, which was owned by two partners, Bongani and Malusi released a statement on the club’s Facebook page stating that after 10 years of operation the club would be shut down. The club started operating in 2010 during the time of the Soccer World Cup in South Africa in June 2010 with a 10-year lease at the premises in Imbali. During level 4 lockdown the landlord advised Bongani and Malusi that he would not be renewing their lease and that he would take over the premises for a similar business, Next Level Lifestyle.
“We would like to thank everyone who contributed to making 033 Lifestyle the global brand that it has become. We have made many friends along the way from staff to customers to suppliers, to sponsors, to artists. You made 033 Lifestyle and the memories, good and bad, will never be forgotten.”
Customers who have been supporting 033 Lifestyle are not so pleased about this announcement.
“We are very saddened by the sudden closing of our favourite spot. We had many great memories there and we were still hoping to create more,” said Thandeka Khoza.
Sizwe Ngcobo who was also a very loyal 033 customer said he wishes the club owners well and hopes someday 033 will return.
In a Facebook statement 033 owners promised to retain their registered trademark, 033 Lifestyle, so that if the opportunity presents itself in the future, they will come back bigger and better.
