MAFIKIZOLO BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND

By: Delani Majola
Popular music group Mafikizolo was recently in Durban’s Boulevard nightclub to launch their latest album Reunited. As the title says, the group is back in the music scene with a banging sound after a seven-year break.
“Khona” was the first single from the album due for release this month and has already left positive trails blazing across party scenes and various radio stations.
They began as three; Nhlanhla Nciza, Theo Kgosinkwe and the late Tebogo Madingoane. As soon as Nhlanhla and Theo walked onto the petite stage, a thunderous cheer erupted from the packed popular venue.
Mafikizolo lived to the occasion by belting out hit songs from their previous albums before making us dance to their most recent hit yet, Khona.
As much as the Mafikizolo’s sound may have changed since their formation back in 1996, there are a few delightful elements that continue to stick well with them. Despite the group’s respective solo ventures, it was refreshing to see that their style note and electrifying energy were still on point.
