CLAIRWOOD HOSPITAL MOTIVATES WOMEN

By: Marcelle Naidoo
The dedicated staff of Clairwood Hospital hosted their annual Women’s Day celebration.
This event which was held on the 8th of August was aimed at motivating not only the female staff of Clairwood but other women in the community. “Women are of great importance and I think it is wonderful that events like this are held to motivate and empower us, because we as woman are helpers, we are loving, without us there would be no life,” said Zonke Mthethwa, one of the women who attended the event.
Every year, the staff of the hospital take time to organise a day dedicated exclusively to highlighting the importance of a woman. This year’s program included a presentation on issues affecting women and a talk by Nedbank, who had a representative available to offer financial advice. There were a variety of musical items and the audience went wild when male members of the staff entertained them with a fashion show.
Mbuso Khuboni, the hospital’s Public Relations Officer and main organiser of the event said that he was extremely grateful to all the sponsors who made the day possible. The highlight of the day for most of the audience members was seeing their male colleagues dressed up as women. There was also a prize giveaway for the ‘woman’ who wore it best.
Peggy Dladla, a member of the staff, was very happy about the event. She said that 0it was well organised and all the speakers were wonderful. “The highlight for me was the financial talk because it affects me,”
Undoubtedly, the women at the hospital recognised their importance and felt special.
