MR SA FINALIST RAISES FUNDS FOR CHARITY

There was a large turn out as one of Mr SA finalists, Ndumiso Shandu hosted a charity drive at Campbell residence.
Two of Durban University of Technology’s first year residences, Campbell and Persada contributed towards the success of this event as it took part on 21 March Friday evening
Ndumiso commonly known as Tumza is doing his second year in information technology at the Durban University of Technology (DUT). He grew up in the rural parts of Eshowe. According to him, he did not think he had what it takes to make it in the modelling industry.
He said, “I always had a passion for modelling but I use to think it was something for light skinned and uptown people.”
One of the institution’s residence advisers Skhindi Nkosi assured Shandu that the institution will continue supporting him throughout the competition.
Nkosi said, “Tumza is one of the student mentors at our residences, he has been given a task to raise R10 000, which he has to donate to a children’s charity in order for him to continue in the competition and we are going to help him in any way to raise that money”. The was able to fund raise R1350 and the journey continues until he reaches R10 000.
The guests were impressed by the outcome of the event poets left the crowd emotional, there was also fashion show left the crowd oozing for more. The underwear models from Fashion Cosmic Black (FCB) which is modelling agency left the ladies out of breath.

A student residing at Campbell residence, Nothile Mthanti said the.“The event was more than what I expected, I loved the fashion, and the underwear models left me in screams. I lost my voice. I am fully behind Ndumiso and if another event like this comes along I would definitely pay to see it.”
Cosmic Black who is a professional photographer and owner of FCB said he sees a great future ahead of Ndumiso.
Black said, “When I first met Ndumiso I was mesmerized how humble and respectful he was. I see him as family and my biggest wish is to see him prosper in life.”
