SOCIAL NIGHT AT CAMPBELL RESIDENCE

By: Khetho Dlamini
Campbell Residence, one of the Durban University of Technology first year student residences, held its social night, an activity that allowed for students to get to know each other through drama, music performance and random games.
“This is a very crucial event in my life since we come from different backgrounds with different cultures but this event has showed me the importance of unity regardless of the differences in cultures, traditions and family backgrounds,” said Athandile Ntozini, one of the residents. He is appreciative of the event which has now enabled him to socialise better with his opposite gender (females).
Sanele Gumede, Deputy Chairperson of the House Committee of Campbell Residence said, “The main objectives for this activity was to give students an opportunity to bond in a social context, unite and get along since they are all new to everyone who they actually have a day to day encounter with.” He added that a team building event of a similar nature is to be hosted by Campbell Residence soon, preferably at the beach.
