Something for the ear

Poetry united poets in and around Durban to share their talent at the Durban Bat Centre.
The event was held on Saturday, with the to teach people about poetry and give them food for thought. Poets from around KwaZulu-Natal came together to promote this art. The show was attended by poets from Pietermaritzburg and other areas.
Event organiser Snethemba Zulu said: “The reason we have this show today is to promote local talent and I have always been passionate about art.”
People did not disappoint as they came in numbers to watch the show and poets took the show to another level. Poets like Bullet Man, Iciko the Art, The Voice, Minenhle Mthembu and many others left people wanting more.
Nompilo Buthelezi preformed her work Crippled Poem.
She said: “Performing here today was breathtaking and also other poets showed that poetry is here and it’s here to stay people must recognise it.”
What made the show unique was that its wasn’t only poets that preformed but also comedians like Sthe and SA Idol wooden mice winner Njabulo gave the audience jiggles. Njabulo preformed his hit song called No Air. Acapella group Abalobi also blessed the audience with their voices.
