The Durban Exhibition Centre hosted yet another eventful and glamorous wedding expo on Saturday.
Brides and grooms to be, wedding enthusiasts and exhibitors came guns blazing at this year’s glitzy and dazzling wedding expo which has grown tremendously in the past two years hosted in Durban.
“We had a great turn out of the exhibitors and of brides as well. It’s our third year in Durban, we’ve been in Joburg for over 15 years. We always grow, we always try to be innovative and have different areas of interest within the expo,” said exhibition Manager, Marylou Bawden.
When asked about the target audience the expo focuses on as well as the involvement of local business and marketing, Bawden truly understood the concept of charity beginning at home.
“Our exhibitors are Durban based, most of them. A lot of them comes from all over the country as well so that you do get input from different people from all over the country. But a lot of the exhibitors here are based in Durban focusing on the Durban market and our marketing is obviously Durban focused as well,” added Bawden.
Brides and grooms to be were indeed in for a treat, from cakes and wedding gowns, to luxurious cars, inspirations and everything fabulous that has to do with weddings.
Lovely couple Ntombi Nzimande and Thanda Shezi could not bite their tongue about their excitement and expectations of the whole event.
“It’s been very helpful. You getting ideas and it has been a great experience. We are just looking forward to getting inspiration,” said Nzimande.
One of the oldest yet still up-to-date and chic bridal boutique Jasmins Bridal, showcased their fabulous gowns at the expo.
“We try to innovate all the time. We travel a lot and bring international designs and also we look at what the local market is looking for. We interact with customers, we try to see what customers want and when we do our imports we take that into consideration. Whatever we decide we doing it locally, we have it made and manufactured overseas,” said Jasmin’s Bridal Boutique Owner, Schabir.
The wedding expo will make its final stop in Johannesburg between August 26th and 27th, 2017.
