A CLASH OF LEGENDS

Durban Liverpool and Kaizer Chiefs fans are preparing for a treat as the long awaited legendary match between the two sides is fast approaching.
This Saturday’s match, organised by ITM group, will see some of football’s legends like former Liverpool players Bruce Grobbelaar, Phil Neal, Robbie Fowler and Roy Evans battling out it out against former Kaizer Chiefs players amongst them, Stanton Fredericks, Lucas Radebe, Fani Madida and Doctor Khumalo.
“I just think it’s an absolutely incredible experience, this will be the biggest game our guys have played outside of Europe,” said Liverpool Legends team coach Roy Evans.
Kaizer Chiefs Legend who will be playing the game on Saturday, Stanton Fredericks, agreed with Evans adding that the game is not going to be pacey since most of the players are no longer playing competitive football but rather it’s going to be classic.
“It’s about exhibition of football. I don’t think you are going to get too much of running but I think the touches and the class will be there,” noted Fredericks.
The organisers of this match are thrilled with how things have turned up thus far. ITM Group Marketing Director, Pete de Wet, told members of the media that because of the success of this event, plans are in the pipeline to hold such an event annually and also to invite other big clubs in England and also in Spain.
As far as Saturday’s game is concerned, tickets are still available. Those who would like to come to the match can buy them at any Computicket outlet or online at www.computicket.co.za. Prices start ranges between R45 and R90.
